Are you “fall-ing” in love with everything autumn? Long gone are the hot days of summer, and now it’s time for sweaters, booties, and steaming lattes.

Sadly, you can’t carry over your summer skincare routine into autumn and expect the same results. The cool temperature of autumn can dry out your skin, leaving it flaky and dull. Our beauty experts here at the Beauty Lounge have some tips to keep your skin glowing long after summer has ended!

Slather on That Moisturizer

Your skin deserves extra care when the weather gets cooler. Thicker moisturizers are best for autumn, because cool air sucks moisture from your skin. Consider adding eye cream to your routine to give the delicate areas of your face some extra hydration.

The sudden change of temperature as we transition from summer to fall can cause your skin to be extra-sensitive. If you experience any burning sensation when applying your moisturizer, switch to a sensitive skin brand to calm that irritation.

Your face isn’t the only thing that needs moisture; give your body some love, too! As summer comes to an end, the weather gets cooler and tan lines start to fade. Those sunny days at the beach are becoming a distant memory, but your hair might not forget so easily.

We all love summer — but summer doesn’t always love our hair. Too much time spent in the sun can discolor your highlights or natural color. And because summer is so hot, you probably wore your hair up most of the time, putting a strain on your roots from high ponytails and top knots. Finally, all that chlorine, saltwater, and even air conditioning suck the moisture out of your hair, leaving your strands frizzy and dry.

With the holidays around the corner, the season of giving is upon us!

During this time of year, it is important to reflect on what we have been given and what makes us thankful. For some families, the holiday season is not a joyful time if they have gone through serious difficulty or financial hardship.

With that in mind, the Beauty Lounge team and I want to help our community and give back to these families. During the month of November, we will be taking donations to two community organizations: the Woonsocket Women’s Shelter and the Community Care Alliance.

We will be accepting donations at the salon now through November 20th.

The Woonsocket Women’s Shelter is accepting any nonperishable items such as canned goods and toiletries for their women and children. The Community Care Alliance is accepting gifts like toys, blankets, scarves, or gloves. All donation items must be new and unwrapped!

As a token of our thanks-each of our clients, friends, and family who donate items will be eligible to enter in our $100 Beauty Lounge gift card give away! With 1 entry per item, we are encouraging as many donations as possible.
