Eyelash Enhancing Services: The Ultimate Guide for Lash Fills

September 14, 2023 by admin

Eyelash enhancing services

If you’re someone who needs routine lash maintenance, you’ve come to the right place. Lash fills are an integral part of lash maintenance and also a part of routine eyelash enhancing services in many salons. However, not many people know when they should get them. This ultimate guide for lash fills will help you find your answers.

What Are Lash Fills?

If you’ve ever had lash extensions, you may have noticed their fullness deteriorating over time. This is where lash fills come to the rescue. They help you regain that fullness without having to undergo the extensive lash extension process again. In short, they serve as new lashes on natural ones once the old lashes fall off or are about to fall off.

What Is a Full Set?

A full set procedure is usually one of the first eyelash enhancing services that a salon may offer you. As the term suggests, the procedure involves getting a complete eyelash extension procedure. Therefore, a full set entails lash extensions placed on natural lashes to add to their fullness.

Lash Fills vs. Full Set: How Long Do the Procedures Take?

Apart from the obvious difference between lash fills and a full set procedure, the techniques used to perform them also differ. In a typical eyelash extension procedure, the technician applies one eyelash extension at a time. The entire procedure can take about three hours to complete, depending on your natural eyelashes.

Lash fills involve applying one lash at a time too, but it’s not as time-consuming as applying extensions from scratch. They typically take an hour based on how thick your natural eyebrows are and how many lash extensions have fallen out.

Nonetheless, the exact duration of each procedure varies based on your lash specialist’s recommendation. If you have concerns about the procedure duration, consult your technician beforehand.

When Should You Get Lash Fills?

Based on your beautician’s advice, it’s wise to come in every 2 to 4 weeks. The rule of thumb is to get a refill service when you have 40% of your lash extensions left. Getting a lash fill means allowing a beautician to remove your overgrown, weak, and twisted extensions and replace them with new ones.

However, not everyone’s eyelashes are the same. Hence, yours may require different kinds of maintenance and different eyelash enhancing services. So, it’s best to communicate openly with your lash technician.

The Best Haircuts for Your Face Shape

August 18, 2023 by admin

Contrary to what most individuals believe, haircuts are not all-size-fits-all. That means that just because a haircut looks good on your best friend, it does not mean that it will look good on you too.

This is why you need to look for some of the best haircut services that recognize your face shape and cut your hair accordingly.

Here are the best haircuts for your face shape that you can tell your barber about!

1.      Rectangle Faces

If you have a rectangular face, you need to look for a haircut that softens your sharp forehead and jaw without elongating your face even more. We recommend a soft layered haircut that would hide the corners of the face while enhancing the cheekbones.

Keep in mind that long haircuts further elongate your features. If you like long hair, you can curl them up, opt for beachy waves, or give yourself a blowout- this helps create horizontal volume, softening the sharp edges of the face.

On days when you want to tie your hair, ditch high buns and replace them with romantic and soft chignons and other sleek hairstyles. You can also get rounded, soft curtain bangs but do not experiment with blunt-cut and square styles.

2.      Oval Faces

Individuals with oval faces are lucky- due to their well-balanced features; they can pull off a number of hairstyle ideas. However, if you want to make a statement with your haircut, you can choose between a short crop or long longs.

If you like short hair, a lob haircut with some layers will make you look chic and stylish. However, if you prefer longer hair, you can style your hair with curls or waves and get minimal layers so that your hair does not drag down your face.

You can also ask your hair treatment service provider to help you choose a haircut that would elongate your features.

3.      Heart Faces

A heart face refers to features like a narrow chin and jawline coupled with broad cheekbones and forehead. The key is to find a hairstyle that decreases the width of your brow and increases the lower face’s width.

A great haircut for heart faces is a side-swept, long haircut that softens the forehead and draws attention to the lower part of the face. This cut can also be paired with curls or waves that start from the lower end of the hair to balance out the sharp angle of the jaw.

Another great cut for heart faces is a pixie cut that is parted on the side. This kind of haircut adds some texture to the hair that adds fullness around the jaw.

4.      Square Faces

Square faces usually have a strong jawline, wide cheekbones, and a broad forehead. Hence, it is important to choose a haircut that will soften your features and make your face look more flattering.

If you want a look that shows off your bone structure, think about side-parting your hair so that you can offset the squareness of your features. Airy, long layers will also look great as they will hide the sharp angles that square faces are known for.

If you like short hair, think about getting a layered bob cut. However, don’t forget to ask your stylist for side-swept bangs, as these will take attention away from your jawline and help individuals focus on the beauty of your cheekbones instead.

5.      Round Faces

Ladies with round faces have similar widths and lengths with rounded, more obvious cheeks. The best hairstyles for round faces are those that create shape and definition. This means pixie cuts and long layers!

If you choose to get layers, go for stagged, long layers that start at your jaw. You can also throw in a short fringe on the side- this will help lengthen your face.

Whatever you do, stay away from one-length cuts, bobs, and short layers, as these can enhance the roundness of your face. Moreover, do not style your hair with full curls, as they can balloon up around your face.

6.      Diamond Faces

Diamond faces are angular, with a narrow forehead and wide jawline. Ladies, if you have a diamond-shaped face, you need to balance your cheekbones and find ways to soften the sharp angles of your face in the most natural way possible.

This means opting for a softer look, such as long or medium layers styled with a deep side part and messy waves. However, if you want to draw attention to the appearance of your jaw, a bob that ends at your chin is also another great option.

You must absolutely also try a pulled-back ponytail that will draw attention to your beautiful cheekbones while making your forehead look more pronounced.

7.      Triangle Faces

Triangle faces include a full jawline that is wider than the forehead and a chin that is flat or square in shape. It is important to pick a haircut that will help balance the fullness of the jaw and soften the appearance of the lower half of the face.

Hence, your best bet includes layers that end around the collarbone or cheekbones- this will help soften your features without drawing too much attention to your chin.

It is best to steer clear of straight bobs as these will emphasize the jaw. If you like short hair, you can always ask for a pixie cut. Light or side-swept bangs can also work as long as you do not get long side bangs or full bangs.

Conclusion

Haircuts can be tricky- a wrong cut or an inch shorter can make all the difference to your features. The good news is that Beauty Lounge has you covered- our talented team is trained by professionals to find the perfect hairstyle to complement your features and bring out your natural beauty.

Get in touch with us today and understand how one simple haircut can make all the difference to your appearance!

Hair Smoothing Treatments: Tips to Avoid Side Effects

July 14, 2023 by admin

Salon hair smoothing treatments

Hair treatments have gained significant popularity over the last few years. With more and more products emerging in the market, the popularity is only expected to rise. Salon hair smoothing treatments give your hair the much-needed health and bounce it may have lost over the years. However, ensuring post-treatment care is just as important. So, here are some tips to avoid side effects following a hair smoothing treatment.

12 Tips to Avoid Post-Treatment Side Effects

Do Not Use Random Hair Care Products

One of the most common mistakes people make after hair smoothing treatments is using random products on their hair. This can affect how your hair holds up in the weeks following the treatment.

The long-term results rely heavily on the aftercare regime. Hence, you should only use products recommended by your hairstylist. Using other products may cause the treatment to wither away soon.

Follow a Consistent Routine

Based on your hairstylist’s recommendation, follow a consistent routine with your hair. For instance, if they suggest a hair-washing routine consisting of a shampoo, conditioner, mask, or serum, make sure not to skip any step. Each product plays a role in maintaining the shine and health of your hair.

Do Not Skip Combing Your Hair

Hair smoothing may be one of the most popular hair salon services, but its aftercare can be tricky and simple at the same time. For instance, hair combing is a pretty simple idea.

Yet, many people avoid it due to the fear of hair fall. It’s important to comb your hair twice a day. It’s also important to understand that hair treated chemically can get oily on the scalp and dry at the ends. By combing your hair, you will be able to distribute the oil throughout the strands.

Over time, you will also notice how your hair has become less dry at the ends and less oily at the scalp. This isn’t it. Combing also promotes the circulation of blood. This, in turn, promotes hair growth. However, you want to avoid over-combing your hair.

Do Not Use Hard Water

Hard water isn’t a wise choice for long-term hair care. It can turn your hair fragile and undo the effects of hair smoothing quickly.

Pay Attention to the Pillow Cover You’re Using

Most professionals recommend using a silk pillow cover following salon hair smoothing treatments. Silk covers ensure less friction, which helps maintain the hair luster. If you’re unable to find a silk cover, invest in a satin one.

Ensure Covering Your Hair Outside

You may want to cover your hair outdoors in order to add an extra layer of protection from the following:

  • Pollution
  • Dust
  • Sun, etc.

Do Not Apply Additional Heat

When your hair undergoes any treatment, it also undergoes a lot of stress. And so, you must avoid using any additional tools on them.

Do not use heat in the form of curlers or straighteners, as they may unleash unimaginable damage on your hair. Understand that your hair has just been modified and needs a significant amount of time to relax before undergoing anything else again.

Avoid Hair Oiling

While some oiling is permitted, too much oiling can be detrimental to your hair health. Oiling your hair means requiring more shampoo to remove it. This means that you may subject your hair to over-cleansing. This may be harmful in the long run. If you must oil your hair, do so after every 2 or 3 washes.

Allow Your Hair to Dry Naturally

Even though hair smoothing is one of the most popular hair salon services, it can impact your haircare routine in the long run. For instance, you could let your hair dry for as long as required previously. But now, they must dry quickly.

However, that doesn’t mean you should resort to blow-drying them, either. Blow-drying can also damage your hair. On the other hand, if they stay damp for a long time, it may also undo the effects of hair smoothing.

Use Cold Water

Most professionals advice using lukewarm to cold water for cleansing your hair. Hot water just disrupts the moisture balance of the hair and scalp. Always finish with cold water to seal in moisture and make your hair shinier.

Practice Deep Masking

Deep masking once a month will provide additional nutrients to your hair. Add some hair serum to your conditioner/mask. Apply this mixture evenly throughout your hair, excluding the scalp. After about 30 minutes, rinse it with normal water. This will act as a deep conditioning mask, making hair shinier and stronger.

Do Not Cleanse Your Hair Excessively

Make sure to shampoo no more than twice a week. That should be sufficient to get rid of the scalp oil. Cleansing your hair excessively will only turn your hair and scalp dry, undoing the effects of salon hair smoothing treatments.

Benefits of Salon Hair Smoothing Treatments

The biggest advantage of hair smoothing is that it reduces frizz and creates a sleeker and smoother look. It also helps you manage your hair easily and create an overall glossy appearance. You also enjoy a reduced styling time as compared to if you have naturally curly or frizzy hair.

Imagine spending hours styling your hair only to see them go back to their original condition again. That is what hair smoothing aims to tackle. However, not everyone is equipped to provide the results you need.

4 Popular Treatments for Frizzy Hair

June 13, 2023 by admin

Nobody likes dry, brittle, and frizzy hair. Women try several home remedies and store-bought serums and solutions to eliminate the frizz from their hair. However, the best way to really get rid of the brittle, frizzy hair is via hair conditioning treatments in salons. Let’s look at four popular treatments for frizzy hair provided at hair treatment service provider Beauty Lounge.

Do You Have Frizzy hair?

How can one tell if they have frizzy hair or if they just occasionally act up?

People with frizzy hair know for sure that their hair is problematic. They have their own mind and prefer to stand up or curl separately instead of aligning with the hair around them.

Frizz can be a problem for both men and women; however, it is more obvious in women since their hair is longer.

People buy store-bought conditioners and oils and use home remedies to eliminate frizz. Although these remedies work at times, frizz, more often than not, overcomes these treatments.

For a long-lasting solution for frizzy hair, it is recommended to get a treatment from a hair treatment service provider.

Hair Conditioning Treatments for Frizzy Hair

There’s only so much you can do at home, despite changing up your hair care regimen and incorporating items like hydrating hair treatments, hair serums, and oils. Sometimes you simply need to rely on professionals. Listed below are some salon services that can help prevent frizzy hair.

Keratin Treatment

The keratin treatment includes formaldehyde, conditioners, and Keratin, the natural protein found in human hair. The best candidates for this therapy have frizzy or curly hair. It makes it easier to get silky smooth hair that is semi-permanent. Its conditioning and anti-frizz properties make it a popular hair conditioning treatment.

The Keratin treatment rehydrates and softens frizzy, damaged, and lifeless hair. Additionally, it eliminates 90% of curls and should last for at least six months.

A hair treatment service provider could apply keratin treatment in two ways:

  • Apply a solution made of formaldehyde to all of the hair and rinse it. Straighten and blow-dry the hair after rinsing. The results from this method could easily last up to a month.
  • The basic keratin treatment involves penetrating it into the layers of hair. It makes hair silkier and shinier and maintains that condition for roughly three to six months.

Brazilian Blowout Treatment

The results from the Brazilian blowout treatment are similar to the Keratin treatment and can last approximately 4-6 months. However, this treatment is a tad bit better than Keratin since it uses a mild specific mixture of substances tailored to your type of hair. This mixture enables you to resume your normal hair routine and lifestyle as soon as you leave the salon.

The Brazilian Blowout removes frizz and adds shine, moisture, and style ability to your hair by using Brazilian-native ingredients, including acai berries, annatto seed, and camu camu.

Cysteine Treatment

A kind of protein-based treatment, cysteine treatment uses the cysteine compound to hydrate, straighten, and soften hair strands. This is one of the hair conditioning treatments recommended by professional when hair are extensively damaged by chemicals and styling.

  • Due to the absence of formaldehyde, which is utilized in other treatments, this technique is more gentle.
  • Depending on the type of hair, it could last up to four months.
  • Since it does not contain any toxins, pregnant women can use it without concern.
  • New hair growth does not seem curly or wavy or reveal any possible variation between treated and natural hair.

The cysteine treatment is, however, a much lengthier process. It involves washing and blow-drying the hair first. Followed by the application of the cysteine complex on small portions of hair. The compound is not applied to the hair roots. Once all hair follicles are covered in the formula, the hair is wrapped in plastic for approximately 45 minutes. Heat is then given to the hair to activate the compound. After this step, the hair is blow-dried and flat-ironed for a sleeker appearance. Finally, shampoo and conditioner are applied to the hair and result in smoother, shiner, and silkier hair.

Hair Botox Treatment

The perfect hair Botox procedure includes deep conditioning to improve the health of the hair. The procedure, which includes coating hair with ingredients that help reduce frizz, is quite straightforward and formaldehyde and chemical free. The hair botox treatments result in beautifully glossy hair.

  • It deeply nourishes and smoothens the hair.
  • It adds shine and gloss to hair while eliminating frizz.
  • Increases volume while also fixing any damage.
  • While this treatment option does not guarantee straight hair, it does make hair more manageable, silky, and smooth.
  • Additionally, the result from hair botox treatments lasts much longer than just 4 or 6 months!

The Dangers of Deep Conditioning Your Hair at Home

May 11, 2023 by admin

Deep Conditioning

Deep conditioning your hair, what is it, when to do it, and how to do it? You may have heard everyone discussing its wonders and tried it yourself. However, why don’t you get the desired results, or worse, why has your hair become a brittle, tangled mess? Let’s find out.

What Is Deep Conditioning?

As the name suggests, deep conditioning is a process where a product with ingredients to rejuvenate your hair is applied to the hair for an allocated period.

In simple terms, it’s putting a treatment on your hair for a specified time and rinsing it off. Getting deep conditioning treatments is the secret to healthy hair for many people. In fact, it’s not even that well-guarded a secret since everyone is talking about it.

Types of Deep Conditioning Treatments:

Deep conditioning treatments are one of two kinds:

Moisturizing treatments

When your hair is moisture deficient, its shine is the first to go. Other signs include dryness, fizziness, easily tangled hair, and split ends. If this sounds like your issue, you need a deep moisturizing condition treatment to bring your lost hydration back.

Moisturizing deep conditioners usually feature ingredients like natural oils, kinds of butter, and plant extracts that hydrate the hair.

Protein Treatments

When hair becomes lifeless, limp, or stringy, you can be certain it lacks protein. Proteins are the building blocks of our hair.

Imagine how bricks build up a wall and protein builds up your hair. You can fix your hair’s lack of structure or bounce with a protein-rich deep conditioning treatment.

You should get these treatments less often than hydrating ones. Trust us, a little goes a long way.

Deep Conditioning at Home

It’s common to deep condition your hair at home. However, there are risks involved. While you get a predictable result when you get a professional deep conditioning treatment, treatments at home are either hit or miss.

A lot can go wrong when you deep condition your hair yourself. Professionals have had months of training and sometimes years of experience working with hair. Here are a few examples of what could go wrong.

You Use the Wrong Product

Choosing the wrong product could be as simple as buying a protein mask when you should get a hydrating one or vice versa. It could also be as catastrophic as buying low-quality products that damage your hair or something else entirely, like a relaxer.

Too Much of a Good Thing

Too often, using a deep protein conditioning treatment can build up an excess of protein in the hair. While you think more protein always means better hair, that couldn’t be more wrong. Too much of everything is bad, and protein is no exception.

Too much protein makes your hair brittle, dull, and prone to breakage. Your hair will feel heavy like there’s a layer on top of it. In a way, there is. Remember how protein for your hair is like bricks for a wall? What happens when you use too many bricks while making a wall? It becomes bulky.

The extra protein sits on the hair, weighing it down until it’s washed away. That can take a couple of washes, and the damage to the hair’s structure is already done by then.

DIY Deep Conditioning

During deep conditioning, your hair is risky enough. You will find a wealth of information online on DIY deep conditioning masks and how to make them. These masks claim to give you near-professional results with more applications over time. While that sounds like a dream come true in this economy, your overpriced avocado belongs on your toast, not your hair.

Yes, the deep conditioning treatment at the salon or the store was made from natural ingredients too. However, those ingredients have been refined, and the active agents are concentrated.

You can’t get the same results by putting fruits, vegetables, and oils in your hair. Also, deep-conditioning hair masks have specialized formulations supporting naturally sourced ingredients and extracts.

You may think the only issue is that these masks are expensive and not as effective, but it doesn’t end there.

These masks can damage your hair. Some masks encourage using lemon, strawberries, and even cider vinegar in your hair. Without carefully understanding your hair’s pH needs, you shouldn’t put acids, even naturally derived ones, on your hair.

You’ve probably heard of egg, yogurt, carrot juice, or coconut milk masks too. Some of these ingredients might be too protein-rich or have the wrong proteins for your hair. Others leave sticky residues on your hair that is difficult to wash out of your hair.

You can never be sure what results you’ll end up with. Honestly, you’d need both a food science degree and a cosmetology school certificate to whip up a deep conditioning treatment that can work well and consistently. If you want your deep conditioning treatment to be organic or completely vegan, that’s easily achievable. You don’t have to mix it yourself for that.

Conclusion

Don’t damage your hair through a deep conditioning treatment at home. You may not be able to choose the right products, or worse, try to make your own. Either way, you will not get a predictable or consistent result and only waste money. You can get the results you desire, stress-free, from a professional. Never put your hair at risk to save money. If you can’t afford a deep conditioning treatment, save up and get them less often or use the money for doing it at home to get better shampoo and conditioner.

7 Curly Hair Myths Explained

April 14, 2023 by admin

Curly hair can be demanding and challenging to keep up with. Anyone with curly hair knows that curls are a big part of their personality, but they require a detailed routine to keep them looking their best. The biggest challenge is not falling for curly hair myths.

With so much information about curly hair, it can be overwhelming to figure out what is true and what is irrelevant. Learning more about curly hair can ensure that you understand how to care for it properly.

In this article, we will explore seven common curly hair myths and debunk them with facts and expert advice. Stay tuned!

Curly Hair Myths

Myth 1: Curly Hair is Unprofessional

This myth is completely untrue. In fact, when curly hair is properly cared for and styled, it can look just as polished and professional as straight hair. The key is to embrace your natural texture and find a style that works for you.

There are loads of professional curly hairstyle ideas, including updos, sleek buns, and defined curls. Just remember to avoid over-styling and using too much product, as this can lead to crunchy, weighed-down curls.

Here are some haircut and hairstyle ideas:

  • The Lob: The lob, or long bob, is a versatile hairstyle that works well with curly hair. This style features hair that falls just above the shoulders- it is cut to be slightly longer in the front than the back. You can customize this hairstyle to suit your face shape and curl pattern. A side or center part can be used to style it.
  • The Updo: An updo is a great way to keep your curly hair out of your face and create a polished look for a special occasion or a professional setting. Try a classic bun, a low ponytail, or a French twist. You can also experiment with braids or twists to create a more intricate style.
  • The Half-Up, Half-Down Style: If you want to keep your hair down but still create a polished look, try a half-up, half-down style. This style features hair that’s pulled back from the face and secured with a clip or hair tie while the rest of the hair falls freely. To keep this style looking professional, try smoothing the top section of hair with a brush or comb, and use a curl-defining product on the ends of your curls.

Myth 2: Curly Hair Needs to be Washed Every Day

Washing your hair every day can strip it of its natural oils, which can lead to dryness and damage. It is recommended to wash curly hair every 2-3 days or even less frequently if possible.

This helps to maintain the hair’s natural oils and prevent frizz. Instead of washing every day, try refreshing your curls with a dry shampoo or co-washing with a conditioner to cleanse the scalp and roots.

Myth 3: Brushing Curly Hair will Make it Smoother

Brushing curly hair

This is one of the biggest curly hair myths that leave many people confused. Brushing curly hair can disrupt the curl pattern and lead to frizz and breakage.

Instead, use a wide-tooth comb to detangle your curls. You can also use your fingers while your hair is wet and coated with conditioner. This helps to smooth the hair and define the curls without causing damage.

You can also look for the best beauty salons on a budget that specialize in curly hair and ask them to show you tricks to care for your specific hair time. This will be an investment that will do wonders for your hair for several years!

Myth 4: Curly Hair Doesn’t Need Conditioner

Regardless of what online beauty trends say, conditioner is a crucial step in any curly hair care routine. Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair because its natural oils have a harder time reaching the ends of the hair strands.

A conditioner helps hydrate and soften the hair, making it easier to detangle and style. Hence, it is important to choose a conditioner that is specifically formulated for curly hair and apply it generously, focusing on the ends of the hair that tend to dry out the fastest.

Myth 5: Heat Styling is the Only Way to Manage Curly Hair

Heat styling can be damaging to curly hair, especially if it is done frequently or at high temperatures. However, there are plenty of heat-free styling options for curly hair.

For example, you can use the “pineapple” method to preserve your curls overnight. You can also try a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer to enhance your natural curls. You can experiment with different styles, such as braids or twists, to create a variety of looks without using heat.

One of the best tricks is to tie your hair using a scrunchie at night and cover it with a silk bonnet- this will help curls retain their shape. Cotton pillow covers are terrible for curly hair as they absorb all the moisture. However, with a silk bonnet in place, you can sleep without spending hours on your natural hair the next morning.

Myth 6: Curly Hair Can’t be Colored or Highlighted

Curly hair can absolutely be colored or highlighted, but it is important to take extra care to prevent damage.

Chemical treatments can be harsh on curly hair. Hence, you must choose a stylist who has experience working with curly hair- the best stylist is someone who uses gentle, nourishing products. It is also a good idea to deep condition your hair regularly to keep it healthy and hydrated.

Myth 7: Curly Hair is always Dry and Frizzy

It is true that curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair. However, this does not mean that it is always frizzy or unmanageable. With the right care and styling techniques, curly hair can be soft, shiny, and defined.

The key is to use products that are specifically formulated for curly hair. This includes leave-in conditioners, styling creams, and gels. It is also important to avoid using too much product, as this can weigh down the curls and make them look stretched out.

Curly hair myths will always be floating around, but make sure you don’t let them wound your self-confidence!

Conclusion

You will find all kinds of curly hair myths on the internet. However, the key is to double-check with your stylist before making changes to your curly hair routine. If you are ever in doubt, get in touch with a stylist from Beauty Lounge- allow them to get rid of all your curly hair-related confusion and worries.

5 Worst Curly Hair Mistakes

April 13, 2023 by vupmedia

Curly hair is unique and beautiful, but it can also be a challenge to manage. Curly hair mistakes are so common as people have loads of misconceptions about how to care for their locks.

In this article, we will discuss the five worst curly hair mistakes and how to avoid them. But first, we will talk about the different types of curly hair:

Types of Curly Hair

Not all curls are created equal, and it is important to understand the different types of curly hair to properly care for and style it:

Type 2: Wavy Hair

If you have loose, S-shaped waves, you probably have Type 2 hair. It is the least curly of all the curly hair types and is often classified as “wavy” rather than “curly.”

Type 2 hair is relatively easy to manage and can be styled in a variety of ways. It has a tendency to become frizzy, especially in humid conditions.

Type 3: Curly Hair

Type 3 hair is where we start to see more defined curls. Tight, spiral-shaped curls that range in size from a pencil to a marker form the basis of Type 3 hair. Type 3 hair can be further broken down into three subcategories: 3a, 3b, and 3c.

  • 3a hair is defined by loose yet defined curls. This type of hair tends to be more prone to frizz and can be easily weighed down by heavy products.
  • 3b hair has tighter curls that are approximately the size of a Sharpie marker. This type of hair is more prone to frizz than 3a hair, and its curls can be coarser and denser.
  • 3c hair has tight, corkscrew-shaped curls that are approximately the size of a pencil. This type of hair is the most tightly coiled of all the Type 3 hair types and is prone to dryness and breakage.

Type 4: Coils

Type 4 hair is characterized by its tightly coiled, kinky texture. This hair type ranges from a tightly coiled “Z” pattern to a soft, fluffy “S” pattern. Type 4 hair can be further broken down into two subcategories: 4a and 4b.

4a hair consists of tightly coiled, springy curls that are approximately the size of a crochet needle. This type of hair is more fragile than Type 3 hair and requires extra care to prevent breakage and damage.

4b hair has a “Z” pattern that is tightly coiled and bends in sharp angles. This hair type is the most fragile of all the curly hair types and requires gentle handling and extra moisture to prevent breakage.

Using the above information, you should be able to recognize the kind of curly hair you have. Continue reading to figure out curly hair mistakes you might be making when caring for your curls:

Mistake 1: Using the Wrong Products

One of the biggest mistakes people with curly hair make is using the wrong products. Many people use products that are designed for straight hair or use products that are too heavy for their curls. This can weigh down your curls, make them look greasy, and even cause breakage.

The best products for curly hair are those that are specifically designed for curly hair. Look for products that are lightweight and moisturizing. Avoid products that contain sulfates, as they can strip your hair of its natural oils and leave it feeling dry and brittle.

For example, some products meant for Typ2 4 curly hair might end up making Type 2 wavy hair feel flat and heavy. Hence, knowing the type of curl family your hair falls into is important.

Mistake 2: Over-Washing

Many people with curly hair think they need to wash their hair every day to keep it looking good. However, over-washing can actually do more harm than good. Washing your hair too often can strip it of its natural oils, leaving it dry and frizzy.

Instead of washing your hair every day, try washing it every two to three days. You can also use a dry shampoo in between washes to refresh your hair and absorb excess oil.

Since curls tend to look frizzy after a few days, you can refresh them with water and scrunch in some gel to bring them back to life.

Mistake 3: Brushing Curly Hair

Brushing curly hair is one of the biggest curly hair mistakes you can make. Regardless of what your straight-haired friends say, don’t try it.

When you brush the curly hair, you break up the natural curl pattern, causing your hair to become frizzy and undefined.

Instead of brushing your hair, try using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle your curls when wet. You can also use a leave-in conditioner to help with the detangling process, especially in the shower.

Mistake 4: Using Heat Styling Tools

Many people with curly hair think they need to straighten their hair or use a curling iron to make their curls look good. However, using heat styling tools can be damaging to your hair, causing breakage and split ends.

Instead of using heat styling tools and following online beauty trends, embrace your natural curls. You can use a diffuser on your hairdryer to help enhance your curls or a curling cream to make your curls look their absolute best.

Mistake 5: Sleeping with Wet Hair

Sleeping with wet hair can cause your curls to become frizzy and undefined. Wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage.

Instead of sleeping with wet hair, try drying your hair before bed. You can use a microfiber towel or a cotton t-shirt to help remove excess water from your hair. You can also try using a silk or satin pillowcase to help prevent friction and reduce breakage.

Conclusion

In conclusion, caring for curly hair can be a challenge, but avoiding these curly hair mistakes can help keep your curls looking beautiful and healthy.

Remember to use the right kind of products designed for your type of curls, and when looking for a hair treatment service provider, make sure to look for one who specializes in curly hair. Is Mousy Brown Hair Making a Comeback? Let’s Find Out

March 16, 2023 by admin

Mousy brown hair is called “mousy” for a reason. This hair color has been the least preferred option in most salons for decades. In fact, most women may only revert to the color or switch to this shade if they experience a disastrous hair dye.

Contrary to what some may believe, online beauty trends have begun reintroducing mousy brown hair to the world. Gone are the days when brown hair was considered dull and plain. Today, brown hair looks fresher and even more sophisticated when mixed with a hint of blonde.

Moreover, brown hair doesn’t need to look boring. The hairstyle ideas you research before visiting the salon can change your entire experience. A great hairstyle that suits the color, along with some highlights, can uplift your look!

What Is Mousy Brown Hair?

Before declaring a verdict on this hair color and choosing it for your next appointment, it is essential to know what it looks like.

Mousy hair, as the name suggests, is a shy and subtle shade of brown. However, it isn’t void of a splash of color here and there. In fact, a lot of people with brown hair often get natural highlights or streaks of different colors. Different haircuts can also make brown hair look different on people.

Online beauty trends have recently encouraged many celebrities to shift to a darker color. Most of them go for mousy brown as a safe transition. Actresses like Taylor Swift have made that switch from their statement-blonde to subtle shades of mousy brown.

This is a great option if you want to look cool without having to style your hair every day.

Why Is Mousy Brown Hair Suddenly In?

What happened in the past few years has suddenly encouraged many celebrities to make that transition.

Everyone, from Hailey Bieber to Gigi Hadid and Billie Eilish, has embraced darker, chocolatey, or brownish shades to embrace change. As we entered the pandemic, most people were pushed to the confines of their homes. This called for a low-maintenance hairstyle.

Most people couldn’t keep up with their bleaching appointments, so they switched to a color they could maintain. This has now become a habit.

Moreover, the cooler and subtle shades of brown are much more comforting. For people who want to stay out of the limelight, this is a perfect shade to adopt. Since bleaching agents are damaging to the hair anyways, it could also be one of the reasons online beauty trends are changing.

Moreover, with the recent surge in the popularity of embracing one’s natural beauty, most women are beginning to go back to their roots. They can also experiment with many different colors as standing out amongst the crowd is finally acceptable.

If you think mousy brown hair is too sudden, try transitioning by adding some darker highlights or slowly shifting to a darker color. Here are some hairstyle ideas you can use to lift your look!

The Haircuts for Mousy Brown Hair

Finding the perfect haircut is the best way to rock that mousy brown hair. Here are some tips to follow;

1.      Get Inspired By the Texture

You must take inspiration from your hair’s texture when considering which haircut to choose. If your hair is naturally wavy, you can get some layers and enhance the shape of your face. Waves on mousy brown hair are easily manageable and don’t require regular styling.

2.      Prioritize Your Face Shape

The shape of your face matters. Mousy brown hair doesn’t have to be uniform, and you can easily add some highlights or go lighter if the dark tones don’t suit your face. Moreover, you can also try to match a mousy brown with a bold cut to balance it out!

3.      Play it Safe

Journey back to when mousy brown hair was last popular and get hairstyle ideas from the best online beauty trends. You can play it safe by sticking to hairstyles that look great with mousy brown hair. This includes pixie cuts and those fringes that everybody loves.

How to Pick a Color

Online beauty trends haven’t just confirmed the popularity of mousy brown hair. They have also assured us that you can play with the color in many ways. The following are some tips you can try out when you visit your hairstylist;

1.      Stick to the Basics

If you are unsure about mixing and matching colors and are also tired of the same old blondes, you can try to transition to the purest mousy brown color. This is usually a lighter shade of brown which can be matched with some curtain bangs or curls.

2.      Add Some Depth

You can try playing with some highlights if you don’t want to resort to just plain mousy brown hair. Brown hair is a wonderful choice that contrasts beautifully with some light blonde highlights. You can try adding a darker blonde to the hair to make it subtler.

3.      Step it Up

So, you love the mousy brown but still want to look different? Why not match two different colors and see how it goes? You don’t have to pick polar opposites. You can simply go with a different shade of brown.

Try mixing chocolatey brown with the mousy brown, or go lighter by shifting to ash brown. Hair with multiple layers of color doesn’t just add volume but also depth to your personality.

Benefits of Using Eyelash Extensions

February 15, 2023 by admin

Eyelash extensions

Eyelashes play a significant role in making you look pretty. If you fail to enhance them, you’ll miss out on the latest cosmetic trend. Eyelash extensions are an absolute game-changer in the fashion world. They enable women to save time and energy daily.

Eyelash extensions make your eyes look brighter. They make mascara applications unnecessary and instill a sense of inner beauty and confidence.

Every woman dreams of having long, thick lashes. This amazing technique is one of the most popular beauty trends for gorgeous, all-natural lashes.

Eyelash Extensions

Semi-permanent fibers called eyelash extensions are applied to the individual eyelashes. This is to provide the appearance of longer, fuller, and darker eyelash fringe. One extension is adhered to each eyelash using semi-permanent glue.

Depending on the salon, eyelash extensions may be crafted from synthetic materials, imitation mink hair, or silk fibers. Salons let customers choose from different extension lengths, curl types, and color tones.

Benefits of Eyelash Extensions

The following are the benefits of eyelash extensions:

1.      Lift Your Appearance

Many people might find it difficult to keep their eyelashes curled all day. Curling your eyelashes upward and outward creates the illusion of bright, youthful eyes. However, it could be quite a hassle. You can achieve that refreshed and all-natural look with the help of eyelash extensions.

2.      Add Glam to Your Looks

Special occasion customers make up a sizable portion of a salon’s repeat business. In most cases, women from all walks of life have eyelash extensions regularly done. Additionally, there are tonnes of women who prefer to get their eyelashes done a few days before a big event or vacation.

The extra glitz will make you feel more confident and attract the attention of other holidaymakers or party-goers. You can spend less time in your hotel room tweaking your looks. Eyelash extensions can create a glam look that suits your stature.

3.      Make Your Eyelashes Unique

A great feature of eyelash extensions is their adaptability to individual preferences. You can always request a natural look and full appearance if the long lash style isn’t for you. A style of eyelash extension is available to suit anyone’s taste.

If you’ve ever had second thoughts about others, it could be due to the style they’ve selected. Don’t feel confined to the thick and lengthy varieties. Many alternatives are available that can improve your look.

4.      Expand the Volume of Your Lashes

Every woman needs to have lash curlers, false lashes, or mascara as part of her routine. They use these approaches daily because they want to look their best.

However, your eyelash extensions elevate your overall beauty. How? By permanently enhancing your lashes’ appearance. Your lashes can look longer, darker, fuller, and thicker. It doesn’t matter if you pick a subtler or bolder look; your lashes will be improved either way.

5.      Improve the Way You Look

Do you wish your eyes looked better? If yes, you should opt for eyelash extensions. How, you ask? By making your eyes look bigger, brighter, and more appealing. You can feel free to switch up your looks daily and create a more accentuated look for yourself.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in a rush; eyelash extensions are at your service. If you don’t have hours to spend in front of the mirror, you can quickly switch up your appearance. The glory of eyelash extensions is unmatched. It will help improve your look without wasting precious hours. It lessens the need for eyelash curlers and water-resistant mascara, saving you precious minutes each day.

6.      Promote Self-Esteem

Eyelash extensions have many advantages. They are nearly impossible to criticize. They enhance your beauty, making them perfect for evening or daytime wear.

Getting rid of your makeup can take up a lot of room. It might take a toll on you. And once you do remove it, you might feel ugly. However, if you have eyelash extensions, you will feel prettier and more confident. Moreover, it might help you feel more comfortable attending social events.

You can swim, shower, and sweat in your extensions after the initial 48-hour dry period. However, you must remember the dryer you keep them, the longer they can last. And they are painless from start to finish. They can help promote self-esteem as you feel confident wearing them.

7.      Ditch the Mascara

A bad mascara application is the worst. Summer humidity gives you raccoon eyes. On the other hand, your mascara can turn your beautiful lashes into a clumpy mess. Either way, you’re suffering. Mascara always adds a dramatic flair to your cosmetic routine.

Additionally, if you make a mistake, you’re doomed. You’ll have to start over because of the mess you’ve eyes have turned into. It can be frustrating. Say goodbye to the drama that comes with mascara for good by investing in eyelash extensions.

Final Word

Eyelash extensions are a fast and simple method for achieving longer, thicker lashes. They are inexpensive and invaluable in the long run. If you need assistance with installation, make sure to use a professional who possesses the appropriate certifications.

10 Easy 5-Min Hairstyles for Women

January 17, 2023 by admin

Everybody needs a quick hair fix. Particularly on rushed mornings when putting your hair together seems like an impossible task. It can get pretty frustrating to do it all in a span of a few minutes, from taking a shower to drying your hair, getting dressed, having breakfast, and then making your hair look presentable. This is why we decided to share ten easy 5-minute hairstyle ideas for women so you won’t ever have to be late to work or school again.

It will also help if you can get the best haircut services for your hair to make hair styling easier and better.

The Messy Bun

This has to be my favorite hairstyle. And it takes only under 5 minutes and works best on second-day hair!

One of my favorite hairstyle ideas is effortless chic, and almost anyone can pull it off. Try this simple messy bun the next time you’re experiencing a terrible hair day.

Second-day hair is where you want to start if you want to achieve this style. A detangling brush or a wide-tooth comb should be used to remove tangles. To revitalize and create volume, add a splash of dry shampoo to the roots and a drop of oil to the ends.

Put your hair up in a high pony, then use a hooked elastic to hold it in place. You don’t have to comb your hair for this; simply let it hang loose and be rough where it needs to be.

Twisted Side Bun

This is perfect for those mornings you don’t have time to dry your hair after a shower. While it looks beautiful on dry hair, it works great on wet hair too.

The Headband Bun

Incorporating a head scarf or headband into your hairstyle is a great way to spice it up and add a nice pop of color. Since there are no pins or elastics required, this one is also quite simple to pull off. Just twist and tuck the hair into the back of the elastic of the headband!

Twisted Tie Back

Starting at the middle of your forehead, divide your hair. Use bobby pins to fix the right section as you twist it back towards your forehead. For the left section, repeat the process.

Simple Tie Back

Part your hair in the middle of your forehead and gently clip the strands at the back of the head. Spice it up by using funky hair clips.

Braided Upside-Down Bun

Why not give your top knot a little extra flair to really stand out in a crowd instead of just wearing it as is? The upside-down plait at the back of the head effortlessly adds a hint of drama to an otherwise straightforward ensemble.

Looped and Twisted Side Ponytail

This creative side ponytail has a complicated-yet-simple appearance. All you have to do is pull all your hair to one side and secure it in a ponytail. Then make a space right above the hair tie and push your hair through it, creating a twisted loop effect. Keep securing the ponytail as you do down the length of your hair, repeating the twist and looping process. This will create a beautiful hairstyle that is very simple to achieve.

Rope Twist

This hairstyle just rocks from preschool years all through college and then for work. This hairstyle is super simple, quick, and looks great. This is a simple method to step up your ponytails and braids if you’re tired of the usual styles. And if you don’t have much time to transition from night to day, just twist everything into a bun.

Low Messy Bun

For the low messy bun, separate your hair from the center and tie it in a low ponytail around the same place where your ears are. Then separate the pony into two parts and overlap them until you reach the end. Sweep all the hair up and secure it in place with bobby pins. Grab a silk hair wrap in some pastel spring hues and tie it around your head for a chic, attractive finish if you want to add a color accent or structure to this messy bun. A wrap made of dark leather is also perfect for a night out.

Tame any unwanted frizz by using a hairspray and makeup brush.

Middle Part and Top Knot

Leave two thick sections of hair in the front of your face to frame it, and pull the rest of the hair back into a ponytail. Make sure you secure them in a high ponytail using your cheekbones as a guideline. Secure using a bungee or elastic.

Create a bun by wrapping the ponytail around and pinning it. Then, take the two thick locks of hair and loosely pull them so you are able to pin them underneath the bottom of your pony. You can leave these strands down if you prefer, or you can pull them back more tightly. Just keep in mind that it’s OK if there seem to be bumped because the messy bun style doesn’t call for a smooth appearance.

You can also curl those strands in front for a more formal look.

Wrap Up

That brings us to the end of our ten easy 5-min hairstyle ideas for women. These simple, practical, everyday hairstyles will make sure you are not late to work, school, or any other commitments. You can change these hairstyles up and take them up a notch by adding hair accessories and sport them for special occasions and parties as well.
